Names and identifying information have been removed. Several statements contradict physical evidence, building plans and other witnesses who were reportedly present during the same events.
“It started upstairs. At least I thought it was upstairs. Slow counting. One number at a time.”
“We were whispering because we didn't want whoever was there to hear us. Then Tyler knocked something over.”
“The counting stopped.”
“That's when I knew it wasn't somebody looking for us. He wasn't trying to find us.”
“He already knew where we were.”
“The counting was just telling us the game had started.”
“I saw him at the end of the hall.”
“There wasn't anywhere for me to go, so I just froze.”
“He looked right at me. I know he saw me.”
“He tilted his head and then walked past the doorway.”
“I waited for him to come back, but he didn't.”
“It felt like I wasn't supposed to be found yet.”
“That's the only way I can explain it.”
“We kept walking because the exit sign was ahead of us.”
“It wasn't moving. I want that clear. The sign wasn't getting farther away.”
“The hallway was just getting longer.”

“There wasn't time for anybody to get around us.”

“But I was standing in this little bedroom.”
“There were toys everywhere. Stuffed animals. Drawings. A bed against the wall.”
“She kept screaming that we were on the stairs.”
“There weren't any stairs where I was.”
“When everything went dark, we were suddenly standing in the same hallway again.”
“Neither one of us had let go.”
Terms associated with hiding, turns, rules, cheating and counting occur with unusual frequency.
Three unrelated witnesses independently recalled the subject referring to another individual as a playmate .
No evidence indicates that the witnesses were acquainted before their respective incidents.
