Witness routes cannot be reliably reproduced using available
architectural plans.
Multiple individuals report traveling through walls, collapsed sections or rooms not represented on recovered property diagrams.
In several cases, estimated walking distance exceeds the known dimensions of the building.
Investigators initially attributed these discrepancies to panic, darkness, intoxication or poor spatial awareness. That explanation is no longer considered sufficient for all documented cases.

The term first appears in handwritten investigative notes

Officers and later investigators reportedly began using the nickname after recognizing repeated references to games, counting, hiding, rules, turns, punishment for “cheating” and apparently deliberate opportunities for victims to escape.

Footsteps, voices and counting are frequently reported from
locations inconsistent with search-team positions or known
structural access.
TEMPORAL CONFLICT
Witness time estimates regularly conflict with recovered
camera timestamps, emergency-call records and sunrise or
sunset conditions.

Personnel entering the property are advised:
- Do not rely exclusively on visual landmarks when navigating.
- Maintain continuous verbal confirmation with team members.
- Do not separate from the group to investigate isolated voices, footsteps or movement.
- Do not assume a visible exit leads outside until exterior conditions are independently confirmed.
- If the internal structure no longer corresponds with the entry map, terminate the search and withdraw immediately.
- If counting is heard, notify all team members and avoid unnecessary noise.
